§ 16. Sir Raymond Gowerasked the Secretary of State for Wales to what extent he is consulted prior to decisions concerning the dispersal of nationalised industries staffs into Wales; and whether such decisions are sometimes made without his knowledge.
§ Mr. John MorrisBecause of my general oversight responsibilities I would normally expect to be consulted about any significant dispersal of nationalised industries staffs into Wales. But there is no obligation on nationalised boards to do so, and I was certainly not consulted about British Rail's decision to abandon its reorganisation plans.
