asked the Minister for the Civil Service what are the salary scales respectively for psychologists employed in the Civil Service and for educational psychologists employed by local authorities.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 25th June 1974; Vol. 875, c. 412], gave the following revised information:

The Civil Service Psychologist class consists of four grades: Senior Principal Psychologist: £6,300–£7,280 (4 scale points) Principal Psychologist: £4,360–£5,775 (8 scale points) Senior Psychologist: £3,331–£4,162 (6 scale points) Psychologist: £1,819–£2,953 (11 scale points) The salaries of educational psychologists employed by local authorities are taken from one of two ranges: Range A, £2,568–£3,831—17 scale points; and Range B, £3,555—£5,280—18 scale points The scale for an individual officer consists of seven scale points determined by the local education authority.
