§ Mr. Russell Johnstonasked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will give, area by area, the number of complaints received by his Department about low-flying aircraft during the years 1973 and 1974.
§ Mr. JohnIn 1973 a total of 1,528 complaints about military low flying in the United Kingdom were received in the Ministry of Defence. The broad geographical incidence of these complaints was as follows:
Northern Scotland 203 Southern Scotland 117 Northern England 215 West Midlands 224 East Midlands and East Anglia 338 Wales 156 South-West England 122 Southern England 153 The complaints received in 1974 are at present the subject of detailed analysis 63W but the total figure is provisionally estimated at between 1,550 and 1,600.
