§ Mr. Tim Rentonasked the Secretary of State for Industry whether, in his proposed Industry Bill, he will strengthen the regulatory functions of the Industrial Development Advisory Board.
§ Mr. BennThe board will continue to exercise the functions described in Section 9 of the Industry Act 1972.
§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he is proposing to add new members to the Industry Act Advisory Board.
§ Mr. BennI shall make appointments to the board as necessary to comply with the provisions of Section 9 of the Industry Act 1972, and these will be announced as they arise. The most recent has been Mr. Donald Chilvers, a senior partner of Coopers and Lybrand.
