§ Mr. Alfred MorrisThe petrol allowance of £10 a year is being introduced to provide a partial exemption from the effect of the additional value added tax imposed as an energy conservation measure. I have no plans to increase the allowance on account of the subsequent price increases which are mainly due to the rising cost of imported fuel.
