§ Mrs. CastleNo reliable estimates are available. It is recognised that a range of residential accommodation is required, together with appropriate day care facilities and social work support, so that people may be placed according to their individual needs. There are some who may never be able to face the pressures of living independently and who will need long-term care.
The question of residential care will be covered more fully in the forthcoming 151W White Paper on Services for the mentally ill.
