§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in view of the estimate by the Federation of Master Builders that prospective increases in the cost of materials and labour will raise the cost of a new house selling at £10,000 to £12,000 in six months' time, he will make a statement on this trend and in particular whether he expects an increase of this magnitude to occur in the eastern counties, and in the general area of Bury St. Edmunds, Newmarket and Haverhill.
