HC Deb 25 February 1975 vol 887 cc122-3W
Mr. Arnold Shaw

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will publish in the Official Report the total amount given to aid the construction industry since June 1970; how this sum was divided between the three National Health Service sectors; and if she will make a statement.

Dr. Owen

Hospital authorities received £20 million and local health authorities £2 million. The family practitioner services were not affected. The figures include provisions to improve regional infrastructure. My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced further measures to aid the construction industry in September 1974. Health authorities will receive a total of £18 million in 1975–76 and 1976–77.
