§ 41. Mr. Grimondasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will propose to fellow members of the ECC that a conference be held on the preservation of fishing stocks in the North Sea.
§ Mr. BishopI will bear the right hon. Member's suggestion in mind, but I do not think it would be appropriate to hold such a conference while the United Nations Law of the Sea Conference is still in progress. The United Kingdom will continue to work for the preservation of fish stocks through the North-East Atlantic Fisheries Commission.
