§ Mr. Loydenasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will investigate the circumstances in which crew members were removed from the SS "Santa Maria B" at the Garston Docks, Liverpool; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Alexander W. LyonWhen the "Santa Maria B" docked on 7th February, two crew members were refused leave to enter and were detained on board. On 11th February they told an immigration officer that they no longer wished to sail with the ship, and asked to be repatriated. As the ship's master was unwilling to accept responsibility, the two men were taken into police custody. On 13th February the ship's agents agreed to repatriate the men, but when they were taken to the ship to collect their gear a dispute arose about pay due to them and they remained on board pending settlement of it. The men have now left the United Kingdom under arrangements made by the agents.
