HC Deb 19 February 1975 vol 886 c431W
Mr. Robin F. Cook

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many households on supplementary benefit were wage-stopped at the most recent convenient date; and if she will publish in the Official Report a table showing the total number of households arranged in bands by each successive pound by which they were wage-stopped.

Mr. Alec Jones

It is provisionally estimated that about 8,000 claimants were subject to the wage stop in November 1974. On the range of the restriction, more recent information than that given to my hon. Friend on 11th July 1974—[Vol. 876, c.572.]—will not become available until midsummer.
