§ Dr. SummerskillThe only information readily available is the number of searches of premises by Metropolitan Police officers, in connection with alleged drugs offences, reported to the Central Drugs Intelligence Unit. The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis informs us that in the three months November 1974 to January 1975 the number was 147. Details of the numbers of men and vehicles used, and of the resulting arrests and prosecutions, could not be provided without disproportionate effort and cost.
