Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what action he has taken since 28th November 1974 regarding the submissions by members of his National Consultative Council on the need for further information about public sector construction programmes; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeson

Two meetings have been held in February with representatives of the industry in an attempt to clarify the information which the industry wants and the use to which it would be put. The industry's views are being considered.

Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is now in a position to make a statement on the progress of his discussions with the members of his National Consultative Council regarding the proposed special liaison committee with the construction industry.
