Mr. John Evans

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if she will list in the Official Report the amount, per head of population, that was spent under all headings on the National Health Service in Scotland, Wales and the English regional health authorities for the last year for which figures are available; and what are the figures for the preceding five years and the anticipated figures for the next three years;

(2) if she will list in the Official Report the total amount that was spent in all sections of the National Health Service in Scotland, Wales and the English regional health authority areas for the last year for which figures are available; if she will list the spending under the appropriate headings; and what are the figures for the preceding five years and

Information in respect of Scotland and Wales provided by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland and my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales is shown below. Similar information for English regional health authority areas is not available, but totals for England are shown. The analysis of expenditure for Scotland varies slightly from that in Wales and England in consequence of differences in the organisation of the health services.
