Mr. Whiteheadasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied with the application of Section 5(2) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1953 relating to the removal of bus shelters to facilitate road improvements carried out by contractors of his Department without compensation.
§ Mr. CarmichaelYes. I see no reason why highway authorities should incur expenses in respect of bus shelters. The Act provides for arbitration in the event of a dispute.
