Mr. Kinnock

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the total amount within the current fiscal year and within a full fiscal year of the additional expenditure which will be incurred by Her Majesty's Government as the result of the application to the rentals currently payable in respect of premises occupied by or on behalf of Her Majesty's Government of the Counter Inflation (Business Rents Decontrol) Order 1975 (S.I., 1975, No. 21).

During 1974–75 as a result of the freeze about £3 million in rent payments was saved. The additional expenditure resulting from decontrol will be about £200,000 in 1974–75 and £6.4 million in 1975–76.
