§ Mr. Gregor MackenzieNo. The proposed increases are already under scrutiny by the Price Commission and the Post Office Users' National Council. The efficiency of the postal services can best be helped by a speedy return to economic pricing.
§ 51. Mr. Dodsworthasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will give a general direction to the Post Office not to abandon Saturday postal deliveries.
§ Mr. Gregor MackenzieNo. But if the Post Office proposed to abolish these deliveries it would have a statutory duty to consult the Post Office Users' National Council, and I should then be concerned with the outcome of the discussion.
