HL Deb 19 December 1975 vol 366 c1648WA
Lord BALERNO

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are proposing to replace the Protection of Birds Acts and the Animals Act 1964 with powers which the Minister has under a 1939 War Regulation whereby the Schedule to the Washington Convention will replace the Schedules to the Birds and 1964 Acts.

Baroness BIRK

I refer the noble Lord to the Answer given to Lord Pitt of Hampstead on 15th December. The Wild Birds (Importation) Order 1970, made under the Protection of Birds Act 1954, is being replaced, but neither that Act nor the Protection of Birds Act 1967 is otherwise affected.
