§ Mr. Buckasked the Secretary of State for Defence what expenditure there has been over the last six-month and 12-month periods on the Military Hospital in Colchester.
§ Mr. Robert C. BrownApart from routine maintenance, expenditure has been as follows:
- (1)Financial year 1974–75: £90,000 on the repair of the operating theatre resulting from fire damage.
- (2) During the present financial year to date: £45,000 on refurbishing.
§ Mr. Buckasked the Secretary of State for Defence what expenditure is involved in the refurbishment currently going on at the Colchester Military Hospital; and what is to be the programme for future work, specifying the work and estimating its likely cost.
§ Mr. Robert C. BrownThe current works are considered necessary to maintain the hospital at an acceptable standard for the short term. The estimated total cost of this refurbishment is £235,000. No further work is planned.
