HC Deb 17 December 1975 vol 902 cc662-3W
Dr. Reginald Bennett

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the current time-lag between the end of the quarter's figures for the amount of quarter and the production of that Treasury Bills outstanding; what are the reasons for the delay: and if he will take steps to reduce it.

Mr. Dell

Figures for the amount of Treasury Bills outstanding at the end of the quarter are available on the next working day and are published in theLondon Gazette on the first convenient occasion thereafter. Figures for market holdings of Treasury Bills are available at the same time, but these are not published until three months later in Financial Statistics for market management reasons.
