55. Mr. Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many strikes, where the principal cause was other than pay, have occurred in 1975 to the latest date for which figures are available; and how many working days were lost as a result.

Mr. Booth

Provisional figures show that there were 903 stoppages of work beginning in the period January to November 1975 where the principal cause was other than pay. Analyses of working days lost according to cause are not compiled on a provisional basis. Final results for the year 1975 will be published in the annual article in theDepartment of Employment Gazette next May or June.
