§ Miss Joan LestorMy Department, in its publication Building Bulletin 7, "Fire and the Design of Schools", issues general guidance about different types of fire warning systems appropriate for schools and encourages consultation locally with the chief fire officer of the fire authority concerned. Responsibility for fire precautions in their schools, however, rests with the local education authorities.
