Mr. Moonman

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to make a preliminary statement on the Inter-Departmental Committee on Industrial Democracy in the public sector; and whether the small businesses association and other management bodies will be invited to give evidence.

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 15th December 1975; Vol. 902, c. 462], gave the following reply:

In the first part of the Government's study of industrial democracy in the nationalised industries each of the industries, the unions and all other interested parties will be asked for their views. Any organisation which wishes to give evidence may do so. We will announce our proposals when we reply to the report of the independent committee of inquiry which is examining questions on representation at board level in the private sector.
