§ Mr. Richard Wainwrightasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) on how many occasions, in each of the last 10 years, he has not wholly accepted the recommendation of his Department's inspectors following a local public inquiry into housing clearance proposals;
(2) how many local public inquiries into housing clearance proposals have been heard by his Department's inspectors during each of the last 10 years and in how many of these the inspector recommended confirmation of the proposals.
§ Mr. ArmstrongDepartmental records are not kept in a form which enables the full information asked for to be extracted without excessive cost. The figures are cases which have gone to public inquiry in the last 10 years are listed below. During 1975 there have so far been approximately 50 cases in which the inspectors' recommendations have not been wholly accepted.
