§ 45. Mr. George Rodgersasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what discussions are planned with local authority representatives in relation to spending on educational provision in 1976, 1977 and 1978, respectively.
§ Mr. MulleySince the Consultative Council on Local Government Finance was set up in May of this year it has engaged in extensive discussion of local authority expenditure levels in 1976–77 on education and other services, in preparation for the rate support grant settlement recently reported to this House. Similar discussions in relation to 1977–78 are due to take place next year. I shall continue to take part in these discussions and also to use other suitable means550W of consultation on matters of education policy and expenditure, including the Council of Local Education Authorities.
