§ Mr. William RossResponsibility for consultation on proposals for regulations under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 rests with the Health and Safety Commission. The Health and Safety Executive, at the Commission's request, is consulting both sides of industry throughout Great Britain through the Confederation of British Industry and the Trades Union Congress on the proposals contained in the consultative document "Framing Noise Legislation". It is also consulting the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities. For its part my Department is considering the proposals from the standpoint of my interests.
