asked the Secretary of State for Defence if an international work-sharing agreement has been made by the NAMMA agency in respect of the development of the MRCA.

A work-sharing agreement was established in 1970 at the outset of the development programme.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if any firm production commitments for the MRCA have been agreed by NAMMA.

Some commitments in preparation for production have been agreed.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what progress he has made with the Chairmen of Rolls-Royce and Lucas about the production of the main engine control unit for the RB199 engine used in the MRCA.

This is a matter for the international consortium Turbo-Union Ltd.

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if the subcontract for the main engine control unit for the RB199 engine used in the MRCA has been placed by Rolls-Royce with the Lucas Aerospace combine.

Mr. William Rodgers

Rolls-Royce (1971) Ltd placed a subcontract for the development of the MRCA main engine control unit with Lucas Aerospace Ltd. It has since been cancelled.
