HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 c492W
44. Mr. Shersby

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what consideration he has given to proposals to import rear-axle assemblies from Hungary for use by the British motor industry; and if he is satisfield that these components are not being imported into the United Kingdom at a price which is lower than that of comparable goods imported from market economy countries.

Mr. Deakins

A contract for the import of certain rear axles from Hungary has been negotiated by a private company on a commercial basis. No Government approval of the terms is required, and we have no direct knowledge of the details.
