asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what items are covered by the "Other" category in the last line of the Miscellaneous Receipts section of Table 8 in Part 3 of the most recent Financial Statement and Budget Report.

The Miscellaneous Receipts "Other" category in Table 8 of the most recent Financial Statement and Budget Report comprises mainly receipts from departmental Votes, details of which are subsequently given in Appropriation Accounts. Other items paid direct into the Consolidated Fund under the provisions of various stautes include, for example, 10 per cent. refunds from the European Economic Community in respect of own resources, receipts from the Independent Broadcasting Authority in respect of levy, Crown Estate surplus revenues, and savings on grants of Parliament and over-issues repaid. Full details of items paid direct into the Consolidated Fund are subsequently published each December in the Supplementary Statement to the Consolidated Fund Accounts.
