HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 c510W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he has any plans to increase the amounts payable for compensation under the brucellosis eradication scheme in Northern Ireland in order to arrive at a more realistic upper figure.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The level of compensation payable for animals which react to the test and are slaughtered under the brucellosis eradication scheme in Northern Ireland is being considered. For animals which have not reacted to the test, but which are slaughtered because they have been in contact with reactor animals, compensation is at 100 per cent. of the valuation with no upper limit.
