§ 48. Mr. Spearingasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what consultations he has had with management and unions concerning the future organisation of the port sugar refining industry.
§ Mr. StrangI would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to his Question of 4th December.—[Vol. 901, c.689–690.]
§ Mr. Giles Shawasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give assurances that those sectors of industry where sugar is used as a raw material will be consulted before any decisions are taken in respect of the future of the United Kingdom sugar refining industries.
§ Mr. StrangI will, when considering the future of the United Kingdom sugar refining industry, have regard to the views of those sectors of industry which use sugar as a raw material. I have already received communications on this subject from two organisations representing food and confectionery manufacturers.
