HC Deb 11 December 1975 vol 902 c305W
48. Mr. Spearing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what consultations he has had with management and unions concerning the future organisation of the port sugar refining industry.

Mr. Strang

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to his Question of 4th December.—[Vol. 901, c.689–690.]

Mr. Giles Shaw

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will give assurances that those sectors of industry where sugar is used as a raw material will be consulted before any decisions are taken in respect of the future of the United Kingdom sugar refining industries.

Mr. Strang

I will, when considering the future of the United Kingdom sugar refining industry, have regard to the views of those sectors of industry which use sugar as a raw material. I have already received communications on this subject from two organisations representing food and confectionery manufacturers.
