Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what has been the total public capital expenditure on the provision of advance factories in Wales over the past 12 years, the number of factories concerned, the number of persons currently employed in these factories and the capital cost per job created.

Mr. John Morris

£13.35 million has been spent in the past 12 years on 88 completed factories: 6,100 persons were employed in the 72 factories currently occupied. The capital cost per job created is about £1,800 in respect of the latter factories.
