HC Deb 09 December 1975 vol 902 cc185-6W
Mr. Monro

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what legal provisions exist for the protection of wildlife, including large reptiles, in Loch Ness.

Mr. William Ross

Powers are available under the Conservation of Wild Creatures and Wild Plants Act 1975 and the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 which could be used to protect wild life, including large reptiles, in Loch Ness if it were established that special protection was required.
