HC Deb 09 December 1975 vol 902 cc163-4W
Mr. Evelyn King

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimate she has of the additional cost that would fall upon the National Health Service if all consultants now working part-time were to work full-time: and if she is satisfied that there is sufficient money available in such circumstances to pay them.

Dr. Owen

The notional cost of all part-time and maximum part-time consultants taking up whole-time employment in the NHS would be about £13 million a year in England and Wales excluding any consequential adjustments to distinction award payments.
