HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 cc369-70W
Mr. Steen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the number of unskilled jobs available in Liverpool for each of the years 1966 to 1971.

Mr. John Fraser

Occupational analyses of the numbers of notified unfilled vacancies are compiled for employment office areas. The statistics do not identify all notified unskilled vacancies, but for the period 1966 to 1971 there are separate figures for the particular category of labourers. The data relate only to vacancies notified to employment offices and not a measure of total vacancies. Following is the information available:

NOTIFIED UNFILLED VACANCIES FOR LABOURERS IN THE LIVERPOOL, OLD SWAN, GARSTON AND WALLASEY EMPLOYMENT OFFICE AREAS
Men Women
June 1966 181 178
June 1967 37 126
June 1968 79 280
June 1969 83 189
June 1970 40 145
June 1971 16 200

The table does not include vacancies notified to careers offices.
