HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 cc448-9W
Mrs. Chalker

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will list in the Official Report the number of claimants who in 1950, 1960, 1970 and subsequent years were (a) paid supplementary benefit subject to being interviewed by the Department's unemployment review officer, and (b) refused supplementary benefit following an interview with an unemployment review officer.

Mr. O'Malley

I regret that the information is not available in the form requested. Unemployment review officers were not introduced until 1961, and it is not a condition of receiving supplementary benefit that a claimant should be interviewed by an unemployment review officer.

Mr. O'Malley
