HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 cc399-400W
54. Mr. Paul Dean

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what meetings he has arranged with representatives of the self-employed and small businesses about Her Majesty's Government's proposals in the Gracious Speech.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

None, nor have the organisations which represent the interests of small firms requested such meetings, although I am of course always prepared to consider requests for discussions from such bodies. The Government's position on the self-employed was set out by my right hon. Friend the Leader of the House in his parliamentary answer of 24th July 1975, and in the light of this there is no reason why I should seek a meeting with any organisation representing their particular interests.
