HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 cc440-1W
Mr. Tomlinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations she has received about phase two of the development of St. Cross Hospital, Rugby.

Dr. Owen

The only representation my right hon. Friend has received have been two letters from my hon. Friend the Member for Rugby (Mr. Price).

Mr. Tomlinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what capital expenditure has been carried out on Rugby hospitals in each of the last 10 years.

Dr. Owen

The information is as follows:

£
1965–66 87,310
1966–67 59,923
1967–68 15,817
1968–69 3,487
1969–70 1,665
1970–71 37,902
1971–72 23,090
1972–73 121,387
1973–74 133,163
1974–75 180,030

Mr. Tomlinson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services when she expects her Department's assurances on the £5 million development of St. Cross Hospital to be fulfilled.

Dr. Owen

The then Birmingham Regional Hospital Board planned the further development of St. Cross Hospital by 1981, but had to revise this plan in 1973 in the light of decisions on the level of capital expenditure taken by the then Government. It is now for the West Midlands Regional Health Authority to consider the priority of developments at St. Cross and I cannot anticipate its decision.
