asked the Secretary of State for Industry what discussions he has recently had with representatives of the paper industry.

My right hon. and noble Friend the Minister of State received a delegation from the British Paper and Board Industry Federation and the main trades unions represented in the industry in September, mainly to discuss the duty-free quotas for paper and board imports. Our officials are, of course, in day-to-day contact with representatives of the industry.
