HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 c382W
Mr. Freud

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what representations he has had from printers regarding their inability to meet the 10 per cent. factor of Section 45 of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963;

(2) whether, in view of the increases in printing costs and their effects on the smallest lotteries, he is satisfied with the operation of Section 45 of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act which relates to the limit on the amount of proceeds appropriated as expenses.

Dr. Summerskill

The limit has been raised from 10 per cent. to 25 per cent. by Section 13 of the Lotteries Act 1975 which was brought into operation on 5th September. The amendment followed representations received about increases in printing and other costs.
