§ Dr. OwenI have now taken advice and concluded that on balance it would not be appropriate or indeed necessarily436W effective if Huntington's chorea were to be made a notifiable disease. However, the Department is currently considering in consultation with the Clinical Geneticists Society, ways in which genetic counselling services might be more effectively provided for potential sufferers from this disease, including schemes for the registration of known sufferers.
