§ Mr. Kilroy-Silkasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the total sum allocated to Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council for education purposes out of central Government funds for the years 1974–75, 1975–76, and 1976–77.
§ Mr. MulleyThe rate support grant is a block grant towards all rate fund services, including education, which do not qualify for specific grant. It is, therefore, not possible to prescribe allocations to individual local authorities for the education service.
The grant to be paid to each local authority is announced to that authority by the Department of the Environment. The allocations for 1976–77 will be announced in due course.
