§ Mr. Boscawenasked the Secretary of Sate for Social Services what would be the estimated saving of reducing the period during which a retirement pensioner can stay at a National Health 725W Service hospital without a reduction in his pension from eight weeks to none.
§ Mr. MeacherIt is estimated that the saving in retirement pension expenditure as such could be of the order of £30 million a year. There would, however, be substantial administrative costs of about £4 million a year arising from the extra adjustments which would need to be made.
