§ Mr. Hurdasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he now expects to be able to announce the preferred route for the possible extension of the M40 beyond Waterstock; and what have been the reasons for the delay.
§ Mr. CarmichaelI now expect the preferred route to be announced in the spring of next year. It has been necessary to undertake a further economic appraisal of the proposals and this will take some time to complete.
