HC Deb 03 December 1975 vol 901 c602W
Mr. Clemitson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how many staff are wholly or mainly employed in the consideration of applications for immigration into the United Kingdom in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh; and what are the corresponding figures for each of the previous five years.

Mr. Ennals

Permanent staff engaged in immigration work in the three countries, including supervisory and support staff, but excluding seasonal reinforcement, are as follows:

indicating the nature of the project, in the following categories, industrial, providing more jobs, industrial plant, infrastructure, transport and communications, or energy supplies in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Orme: It is not possible, for reasons of commercial confidentiality, to give details of industrial applications under the Fund and it is not desirable to publish details of other applications which are still under consideration. When decisions are taken on applications announcements will be made.
