§ Dr. Edmund Marshallasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection what is the present position in respect of the introduction of statutory control by meter of deliveries of domestic heating oil.
Mr. Alan WilliamsIn consultation with representatives of the various interests affected, my Department has been preparing technical regulations which will exercise statutory control, under the Weights and Measures Act 1963, of the meters used for deliveries of domestic heating oil. The regulations will also bring under metrological control the bulk deliveries of other liquid fuels. Drafting of the technical provisions is at an advanced stage but further substantial work remains to be done. I expect regulations to be laid before Parliament towards the end of 1976.
