HC Deb 02 December 1975 vol 901 cc502-3W
57. Mr. Hooson

asked the Minister for the Civil Service if he will set out in the Official Report the last six pay rises awarded to the Civil Service, together with the date of each pay rise and the percentage increase in basic pay on each occasion.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

Changes in basic pay rates are not made for the Civil Service as a whole, but for individual grades, of which there are about 3,000. Information of these changes, either grade by grade, or in aggregate, over the past six years could be provided only at disproportionate cost and effort. But if the hon. and learned Member has in mind the pay of any particular grades I will gladly supply information about them.
