Mr. Crouch

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what was the total received by the National Trust through the Historic Buildings Councils for maintenance grants and works of restoration, respectively, in the latest three convenient years;

(2) if he will list those properties owned by the National Trust which have received grants through Historic Buildings Councils to meet annual deficits in the latest three convenient years and payments made in respect of each place in each year.
