asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she has yet received the report of the Pearson Commission into civil liability and compensation for personal injury; and when she expects to be able to publish it.

Following are the figures for 1970, 1974 and June 1975, being the latest month available. I have just received a copy of a letter written by the Essex Local Medical Committee to the North East Thames Regional Health Authority on this subject, which is being considered. I will write to the hon. Members.

I am informed by my noble Friend the Lord Chancellor that the Royal Commission will visit Australia and New Zealand in the autumn, and expects at that time to complete taking evidence. It is not yet possible to give a firm date by which it can be expected to report.
