§ Mr. Mahonasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether the National Dock Labour Board has asked for loan facilities to finance the continued operation of the National Voluntary Severance Scheme.
§ Mr. FootYes. I propose to issue loans to the board under powers contained in the Dock Workers (Regulation of Employment) Act 1946. A Supplementary Estimate will be presented at a later stage but in the meantime recourse will be made to the Contingencies Fund.
